Can you make posts display from most recent to oldest? Mine show oldest first, which means a lot of scrolling.

Can you make posts display from most recent to oldest? Mine show oldest first, which means a lot of scrolling. My thoughts, exactly, Kayvee! I realize that the current display mode helps prevent people from responding only to the latest post without reading back at all. I remember how frustrating it used to get to me on the original Q when a good post by someone got buried by unrelated chatter and the conversation was disrupted because people didn't necessarily bother to read back. I guess that can be prevented by using the quote feature... So, then, is there at least a way to mark the posts that we have already read so that we can jump to the latest unread post when we open the thread? It's okay now since the threads are relatively short, but it could become a nightmare later on when the threads get longer... imagine having to scroll through pages to find the latest unread posts! Thank you for setting up this thread, Bruce!

Thanks for the help monument , I was going to say the same thing, there is no way to change the order of the posts, we're stuck with the way it is.

Thanks for the responses everyone. The New icon might help, I’ll check it out. It is so good that we have people here, still communicating. Thanks @abcowboy and others for making it happen.

Thanks for this tip, Monty. Thanks for this tip, Monty. It worked and made things a lot easier! My only problem is that I often take time in thinking of responses to write (I'm a slooooow thinker!) That means that I still have to scroll a lot to get to the last post. I only see "bookmark" as an option in the settings option at the right of a post if it's for one's own post. Perhaps you or Cowboy if there's a way to "bookmark" somebody else's post so that I could jump to it? Also, does @ work in the same way it did on Ryver?

Can't blame that on my poor eyesight. Ach, is it old age?

I don't see any way to bookmark individual posts Doodlebug , sorry. And the @ function "mention" works very similar to the way it did in Ryver except that you have to type out the full name correctly, there's no drop down list of names to choose from.

Hi folks, if you click on the gear icon in the upper right side of a post you can then select "Link to post". A litte box opens up which gives you, well, a link to that specific post If you right click the highlighted URL you can directly create a bookmark to that post. Or just copy and paste it in a new browser window or tab and bookmark it from there.

I just found out a couple of other things that were new to me I attached 2 Screenshots to make it easier to find stuff. The first shows the gear icon i was mentioning in the last post as well as the "Reply" button that i absolutely did not notice before! (On the upper far right side of the "Quick reply" box) If you click on that "Reply" button it takes to you a proper editor which has all the usual text editing functions you would expect. It also copies over everything you might have written in the "Quick reply" box before (see the box labeled "2" in Screenshot 2). If you look at the row of function buttons on the top of the page there is one that has a little user icon and an even tinier @ sign on it (the one that the red arrow labeled "3" points to). If you click on that button a little box pops up where you can start typing a username and it will look it up for you and make it a clickable thing (like i did with Doodlebug in the screenshot) If you want to include several posts in a reply you can click on the gear icon i mentioned earlier and click on "Select post". Do that for all the posts you want included and then, when you click on the "Reply" button, it will take these specific posts over to the editor page, like i did with abcowboy's post (box labeled "1"), i just selected one post which does the same as the quote button of course Maybe you all knew this already but it was new to me

monument abcowboy it seems the little @ button on Reply does indeed have a dropdown! Fun finding things out, and thanks for the tips.
